Ok. October sessions might be my favorite. The light is beautiful, the air is crisp. It makes for the most wonderful Boulder Family Sessions. And man does South Mesa Trailhead make for such a perfect location at Sunrise. Sunrise is just magical. I know I have said this time and time before but it really is. You get the best of the weather. The least amount of crowds. By far it is my favorite time to shoot. It might mean waking up super early in the morning, but it is completely and utterly worth it.

Photographing Families

I have been doing a lot of family sessions lately. It is such a nice change of pace from my normal couples sessions and weddings. Do NOT get me wrong, I am so blessed to have the career that I do. And I absolutely love all of the couples that I work with. But one of my favorite things has been watching the couples who’s weddings I photograph, grow into families. Just like this family. I shot Kelly and Dave’s wedding back in 2017. And it is so fun to be able to watch them grow into a family.

South Mesa Trailhead

This spot is definitely a prime photo location in Boulder. It is a part of Boulder OSMP land and is one of the best backgrounds for sessions in the area. It is located just before the entrance for Eldorado Canyon State Park. You get the flatirons partially in the background and tons of open fields. This is a popular boulder hiking spot, so afternoons can be packed. Especially on the weekends. My suggestion if you are wanting to have your photos done here is to opt for Morning. Another thing is that your photographer will need the proper permit to work commercially here. This can be obtained by Applying online HERE. Currently with Covid-19, all sessions must be reserved and certain locations are no longer available to be booked on weekends. Reach out to me directly for more info on this!
