FORT COLLINS CO ENGAGEMENT SESSION | LIBBY + JIMMY

ROMANTIC ENGAGEMENT SESSION WITH HORSES

Colorado engagement session. Engagement Session with horses.

Ok, this might just be one of my all time favorite sessions I have ever done. I am a little crazy about horses. Absolutely think they are the most majestic beings. So being able to capture Libby and Jimmy with Libby’s horse that she has had for practically half her life was phenomenal.

CODY THE HORSE

Oh Cody, he is just the sweetest. And such a huge part of Libby’s life. He just turned 16 years old this year. Isn’t that amazing?! And to think that Libby has had him basically his whole life is awesome. So of course we thought it would be perfect to center their engagement session around this adorable fella. He is the brown horse in these photos with the beautiful white spot between his eyes that so sweetly sticks his tongue out for photos and just makes us all laugh a ton. He has a few other horse friends at the stable, a few of which wereeager to get in on some photos right away lol. It was just all around a great day with Cody and his stable pals.

THE FORT COLLINS ENGAGEMENT SESSION

On the day of the session, I was freezing out. As where I live, about an hour or so south of Ft Collins it was a full on blizzard. I left my house super early because I knew I was going to have to drive through a horrible mess of snow. Cars were slipping and sliding all over the road and snow was just pouring down. As I drove north and got about half an hour outside of Denver it was like the clouds opened up and allowed for the most beautiful light. No more snow. I got to Ft. Collins and was so surprised at how different the weather was. It was totally in our favor.

While the snow was gone, it was still super windy and super cold at this Fort Collins Engagement Session. I was bundled up in a full on knee length thick down coat with gloves and a hat and hood. We kept running back inside the stables to warm up every few minutes. We would cover up Cody with his thick blanket cover as much as we could and only took it off for a short time for photos. Libby and Jimmy were full on troopers. They had to have been literally freezing their butts off and I give them mad props for rocking it that day.

Even though it was freezing, it was an absolutely romantic Fort Collins Engagement Session. If any of you get the chance to do a session with horses.. Jump on it. It was so incredibly fun to shoot a couple and see them interact with each other and utilize their horse in their portraits. And we were able to capture some super cute cozy photos in the stables. It was rad you guys! Take a look!

  1. What a special and touching session! You see a lot of sessions with horses but to see a couple with a real attachment to the animal, that’s pure perfection! I absolutely love the editing style here as well ❤️ Beautiful couple and beautiful work

  2. What a day!! These images though, wow girl! Coming from a horse lover myself, she will cherish these images in so many ways. If any of my horses were still with us today I would absolutely want to do a session with them! <3
