Colorado Springs Engagement Session | Taylor & Jesse

These two… where do I even begin?! I simply adore the two of them. I met the two of them in 2017 when they moved up here to Denver from Austin, TX. Funny enough, Jesse used to work with my boyfriend years ago in Austin and they ended up moving just a few miles down the road from us up here in Colorado. So we decided we should all meet up and hang out. I am so glad we did! Taylor is now one of my closest girlfriends up here and I am so entirely excited for their wedding in Austin come January!

On the day of their Colorado Springs engagement session, we met up in a Target parking lot in Denver where I was picking up some last minute supplies to make Taylor a bouquet for the photos. We decided it would be fun to create something pretty for her session, that would tie in well with her last outfit of the day. We picked up the flowers at King Soopers and literally through together this bouquet in about 30 minutes before heading down to the Springs.

Cheyenne Canyon and Gold Camp Road Engagement Session

When we first started planning their engagement session we were basically working around the crazy spring time weather here in Colorado. We rescheduled a good 3 times just due to weather alone. Spring in Colorado is full of some beautiful days but also some of most random snow storms and rainy weather you’ll ever have to deal with. Finally we got to the day of their session and decided that the best location would be down in Colorado Springs to avoid the heavy rain that was, again, headed for Denver.

We headed down and just decided to make a day of it. Stopped at Dutch Bro’s coffee (Only the best coffee in the world) on the way to Cheyenne Canyon where we decided to start off their engagement session. Cheyenne Canyon is full of some really awesome landscapes and a waterfall that made for a perfect backdrop to start off their session. We also adventured down Gold Camp Road and found some pretty rad tunnels along the way.

Garden of the Gods Engagement Session

When we finished up in the Canyon it was starting to rain just a little. We headed down and over to Garden of the Gods and got there just in time and avoided the rain entirely. To those of you who don’t already know, Garden of the Gods is one of my favorite locations to shoot at. Its full of so many different shooting locations and really just make for such a romantic backdrop. The rocks, Taylor and Jesse’s outfits, and those flowers really just brought to life the vision we had for their session. We hiked around different areas of the park, they practiced dancing on the mountainous rocks, and we created some absolutely magical photos at their Colorado Springs Engagement Session… <3
