Ok so we all know how much I love a non-traditional wedding. Leah and Jeff win in the non-traditional department. Their ceremony was held at this Rad little nonprofit indoor farm and educational center called Growhaus. This place is amazing. Its goal is to create a community driven neighborhood based food system by serving as a hub for food distribution and production, education, and economic opportunity. Seriously it can’t get much more unique than that. Their ceremony was basically them telling each other how absolutely in love with the other they are, signing their marriage license, and sharing some seriously amazing moments with their favorite people. They said family vows and personal vows. The tears were real, y’all! Waterworks all over the place. It was beautiful. Not only that, but if you don’t already know… in the state of Colorado you do not have to have an officiant. You can marry yourselves. That is what they did and it was so personal. I will forever be a fan of self-solemnization. As soon as they kissed, they welcomed so many of their friends to come up and either say some kind words or perform for them. It was incredible. They have some amazing friends with killer talent. This was followed by an abundance of partying, dancing, and the bride also ran out at the end and drove off in what I like to call, a duck-mobile? lol.

But that isn’t the only thing that sets these two apart from the rest of the world. I mean, who says that you have to do things traditionally in life? I love that these two forged their own path in the exact way that worked for them. These two had been together for just about 8 years by the time they finally married. They met through mutual friends and kept running into each other at parties, barbecues, etc. They had a lot in common. Both studied film in college, so eventually they decided to hang out and go to the movies together. It was a few times before it was actually considered a date. And from then until now, their love and life has grown more than ever. They have bought a house, have two dogs, four chickens, a subaru, and now have a baby together. This wedding day wasn’t just a wedding. It was a celebration of the life they have built over the last 8 years. And its an absolute beautiful one at that.
